A high-quality carpet can only be just the beginning - because to ensure that you can enjoy your Girloon carpet or carpet tile for a long time, it is important to ensure that you handle your floor solution correctly and maintain it properly. This also applies to cleaning in case of any stains that may occur. Because if it is no longer sufficient to clean the carpet with a vacuum cleaner, the carpet must usually be cleaned by hand. So that you always know how best to deal with which type of stain and how to treat it sustainably, we have compiled the most important tips for you here.
And should you still have any questions, our customer service is of course always happy to help you.
The most important thing to do when a stain appears on the carpet - remove it immediately. The longer the stain can remain in the fibres, the more difficult it will be to remove. Furthermore, in all cleaning processes - even if you only use water - the respective cleaning agent is never applied to the carpet, but always on the cleaning cloth.
If water-soluble stain substances such as beer or honey get on the carpet, it is usually sufficient to remove them with a cotton or microfibre cloth and lukewarm water. It is best to use distilled or carbonated water to remove the stain. Make sure that the treatment is carried out by dabbing or in a rotating movement from the edge of the stain to the centre. Under no circumstances should you rub extensively, as this would only spread the stain further without absorbing it.
In case of stains caused by stains that are not water-soluble, such as butter or oil, it is best to use alcoholic cleaning agents, such as methylated spirits or Isopropanol 100%, which is available in pharmacies. The cleaning process does not differ from that for water-soluble stains.
Owners of our practical carpet tiles can sit back and relax with all this. If you are unable to remove a stain from the fibres of your carpet, you can easily and quickly replace the tile in question. And thanks to our LiftBAC technology, it's easy - just lift the old tile and put the new one on. That's it.
If all these tips do not help you remove the stain from your carpet, you should immediately consult a professional who can advise you.
If you want to use special cleaning agents to treat your carpet, you must ensure that it is low in surfactants and cures crystalline before use. And you can test this easily at home: let a small amount of the cleaning agent you want to use dry out in a glass bowl at room temperature. The remaining residue should be granular, powdery or crumbly and can be crumbled or ground between your fingers. This is the only way that the residues of the cleaner can be easily sucked out of the carpet after drying. A sticky or moist residue would bond with the fibres, could not be easily removed and could even cause the new dirt particle to adhere even faster and further soil the carpet.
